The Mannekin Corkscrew from Le Potier DEtain is a playful spin on a wine opening tool and is hand-crafted from the finest, dining quality pewter in France. This unique and amusing corkscrew is moulded into the shape of a mannikin, where it will allow you to remove wine corks with ease. This piece will look perfect on any bar cart in your house, as well as making a memorable and humorous gift. The pewter alloy is crafted from 95% pure tin.

Highly regarded as the finest purveyors of French pewter, Le Potier DEtain carry a range of household objects that are hand-moulded and hand-finished in their workshop in the South-East of France.

Le Potier dEtain was established by the Brassac family, master pewter-smiths for six generations based in the village of Bourg de Page in South-East France. The Brassacs were inspired by Louis XIV, who sold his gold and silver tableware for pewter, to finance his battles and the construction of the Versailles. This led to the family becoming pewter potters in Auvergne, France, where the family would visit each village making tableware from their wooden barrow on demand.

In 1952, the Brassac familys craftsmanship was recognised by all, after Franois Brassac, having learnt the skill from his father, started his business. He became Master Pewter Potter and created his own hallmarks, which are still present on each object today. The company have recently been accredited as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV, Living Heritage Company) a widely recognised honour in France.
